Itinerary

Short Journey Through the Sundarbans and Village Life

8:30 AM - Meet and Greet at Mongla Tourist Jetty

  • Welcoming guests and providing an overview of the day's plan.
  • Briefing about Mongla Port and showing the map of the route.

8:45 AM - Start Sailing

  • General facts, history, culture, biodiversity, tides, and forest dependency of the local community.

10:15 AM - Arrive at Karamjal (1.5 hours)

  • Complete the forest entrance formalities and go with a local guide for walking tour with different stops.

10:25 AM - Visit Karamjal

  • Spotted Deer Breeding Corner (20 minutes)
    • Learn about the breeding time of the year and the lifecycle of a deer.
    • Learn about the captive breeding and conservation efforts.
  • Crocodile Breeding Corners and Dolphin Information Corner (30 minutes)
    • Learn about the breeding time of the year and the lifecycle of saltwater crocodiles.
    • Baby crocodiles and the techniques of breeding, rearing until they are ready for the wild.
    • Dolphin conservation facts.
    • Visit the newly built information and display centre
  • Trail Walks Through Mangroves (1 hour and 30 minutes)
    • Facts about Bengal Tigers and human-wildlife coexistence, mangrove species, medicinal plants, aquatic creatures.
    • Possibility of encountering spotted deer, monkeys, different types of birds, aquatic creatures.

12:45 PM - Resume Cruising to East Dhangmari Village

  • On the way, enjoy a picnic lunch onboard/or Lunch at the village (Upon advance notice)
  • Possibility to observe playful dolphins at the dolphin sanctuary (30 minutes).

2:15 PM - Arrive at East Dhangmari Village

  • Visit the Village and Enjoy Cultural Performance (1 hour and 30 minutes)
    • Learn about the scarcity of freshwater, forest-dependent communities, and their lifestyle.
    • Enjoy a unique cultural performance that conveys conservation messages.

3:45 PM - Resume Boat Journey Towards Mongla

  • Leave with sweet memories.

5:15 PM - Arrive Back at Mongla (1 hour and 30 minutes)
