Arrival at the Cottage (12:00 PM)

  • Receive a warm welcome with flower garlands and fresh fruit drinks from the host family.
  • Check-in and enjoy a brief orientation about the cottage facilities, including its history and benefits to the local community.

Free Time (12:15 PM - 1:15 PM)

  • Relax and explore the surroundings until lunchtime.

Lunch (1:15 PM - 2:00 PM)

  • Savor a variety of local cuisine items, experiencing the fresh and vibrant flavors of the region.

Village Exploration (2:00 PM - 6:00 PM)

  • Visit to Temples (2:00 PM - 2:30 PM):
    • Explore the Jogodhatri and Bonbibi temples, learning about local traditions, rituals, and the fascinating story of Bonbibi and the tiger-human conflict.
  • Tiger Victim House (2:30 PM - 3:00 PM):
    • Meet a tiger attack survivor and hear the poignant story of a child who was taken from a mother’s lap by a tiger.
  • Wooden Boat Workshop (3:00 PM - 3:45 PM):
    • Participate in wood crafting activities, learning about wood fixing, nailing, and painting techniques.
  • Local Market Visit (3:45 PM - 5:00 PM):
    • Discover the bustling local market where locally grown vegetables are sold and learn about local trade practices.
    • On the way back, engage in a discussion about the family and marriage systems in the village.

Return to the Cottage (5:00 PM - 5:30 PM)

  • Return to the cottage and relax.

  • 7:00 AM - Morning Tea and Breakfast (45 Minutes)
    • Enjoy a traditional breakfast to start your day.

Morning Activities

8:00 AM - Silent Boat Trip (1 Hour)

    • Depending on the tide schedule, embark on a peaceful boat trip starting from the cottage jetty, heading towards Thakur Khal.
    • Learn about the mangrove forest, its importance in blue carbon, and facts about the ecosystem.
  • 9:00 AM - Stop at Thakur Khal (45 Minutes)
    • Pause at a scenic spot in Thakur Khal. Discover medicinal plants, mangrove tree species, crabs, mudskippers, and otters.
    • Explore the history of the forest, bird species, and forest management.
  • 9:45 AM - Resume Country Boat Trip (1 Hour)
    • Continue your boat journey, observing the high and low tide impacts on aquatic life.
  • 10:45 AM - Return to the Cottage (45 Minutes)
    • Return from the end of Thakur Khal back to the cottage.

Late Morning

  • 11:30 AM - Fishing with Traditional Tools (1 Hour)
    • Experience traditional fishing techniques near the cottage.

Afternoon

  • 12:30 PM - Return to the Cottage, Check-Out, and Lunch (1 Hour)
    • Return to the cottage, check out, and enjoy a final meal before departure.
