The Kalagachia Ecotourism Center is located near the Burigoalini Station in the western region of the Sundarbans under the Sundarbans West Forest Division. This is a great ecotourism center accessible to day visitors particularly from Satkhira and Jashore districts. This is the most popular entrance to the day visitors after the Mongla entrance point. The construction of Padma bridge has increased the pressure of visitors at this site. There are several facilities to enjoy there to spend a couple of hours viewing nature and wildlife around the footpath and from the watchtower. Goran and Khalsi trees predominate the foliage here. Monkeys and deer move freely across the site and are perhaps too familiar or comfortable with visitors, eating from visitors’ hands. Unfortunately, visitors are seen feeding the deer biscuits and chips, which are not healthy for the animals.
