The museum was founded under the auspice of the Department of Archaeology of Bangladesh in 1998. Various archaeological relics, found in various places in the country, especially in Jhenaidah's Barabazar, Bharat Bhayana of Jessore are being displayed in this museum. The museum also has a hall room, where many cultural events are arranged throughout the year.
